“If to be free is the most important goal of all, then to help
someone to be, or become free, must be the most sublime and rewarding of all human endeavors.”
For me, from the catalyst of yoga springs forth meditation, service, and the understanding of the non-duality of existence. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to make a difference in the world, and help people to see their own beauty in this glorious life. After years of university study and career exploration in environmental education and activism, I realized that I could incorporate all of my passions to make the world a better place into the path of teaching yoga. My purpose is to weave together and apply the transformative capabilities of true environmental awareness and social action with strengthening the human potential of body, mind, and spiritual consciousness.
I have spent several years implementing grassroots environmental education and community development programs in the USA, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Malta, and India. Some of my prominent experiences include work with the United States Peace Corps, the Gaia Foundation, and the Indian Heritage Research Foundation.
In recent years, I have implemented successful fundraising events for the Divine Shakti Foundation (supporting abandoned women and girls in India), Charity Water (to build wells in Africa), and Women’s Earth Alliance (globally uniting women on the frontlines of environmental justice causes by coordinating training, technology, and financial support for thriving communities).
